Built between 1717-1728, this library maintains its books using a unique ecosystem of resident bats that consume paper-eating insects. The three ornate rooms feature lacquered shelving, exotic woods, and gilded decoration housing precious works from Portugal's Age of Discovery. Access is limited to preserve the collection, making visits particularly special for bibliophiles.
